Rube Goldberg BY: Brooke, MIkayla, Josh, and Vanessa

A Rube Goldberg machine  is a machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, typically in a chain reaction.  A Rube Goldberg Machine is made up of simple machines such as; the lever, wheel and axle, wedge, pulley, and inclined plane.

Rube Goldberg machines are named after Reuben Lucius Goldberg who was born in San Francisco on July 4th, 1883.  Reuben died in year 1970 (87yr. old),  and was known as a sculptor, author, and a Pulitzer Prize winner.

Our class project is to create a Rube Goldberg machine in groups of  four. Our group decided to water a plant using simple machines . The project has to use five different simple machines at the minimum.  The board that the machine goes on has to be no more or no less than 1meter by 1 meter.

This is an example of a rubegoldberg design.
